Graduating from YSMU in 1998, has given me a great opportunity in life.
Foundation training given in YSMU has given me (and other doctors) Skills and opportunities to succeed in life. On reflection the time spent in Yerevan, Armenia in medical school was best and to be where I am now (and so is true for many others who graduated with us or after us), Teachers, professors and all local people whom we came across were friendly, approachable and helpful in every aspect, even in difficult times. Everyone was supportive with us in every aspect of work and life despite being foreign national, learning new languages, skills.
Felt very welcomed, supported away from home, meeting new people and living in new culture. During medical school and values learnt over there has stayed with me forever.

I was studying in the YSMU from 1993 to 1999, in the University with more than 100 years of history. These were the most incredible years of my life when I had an opportunity to learn medicine. The outstanding teachers and professors of my university had a big impact on me and made me even more passionate about the profession of my dreams.
Together with the knowledge, social skills and empathy I acquired in Alma Mater throughout the years, I got a lot of good friends, who are now acknowledged doctors around the world.

I started my journey in medicine at the prestigious Yerevan State Medical University in 1994. It was a journey filled with valuable experiences made possible by my teachers, professors and staff at YSMU. Their expertise, professionalism, student centred care and attention provided the foundation for overall growth and skill development which I am proud of.  The staff always paid paramount attention to individual student needs and helped nurture personal and professional development. Their warm and caring nature made us feel at home away from home. They have shown us by example how to lead our lives as we continue our journey on the road of life. I have immense respect and express gratitude to every faculty member and university staff who helped and supported me as a friend, counsellor, mentor, educator and guide in my journey during my time at YSMU

I was among the many international students in Yerevan in 1992. It’s an honour to write this testimonial for my beloved Alma Mater: Yerevan State Medical University. Initially, we were taught how to master Russian as a foreign language. Soon we were attending all lectures in Russian and at the hospitals conversing confidently with patients. The basic & clinical sciences Professors at Yerevan State Medical University were very skilled and their expertise in Medical Education have given wings to my dream to be a doctor. We travelled around the beautiful “Pink City” of Yerevan to complete the various clinical rotations. Those were the best days of my life when individual attention was of utmost importance. I found a home away from home amongst all my friends at YSMU. Both the Departments of Russian Language & the department of International Students were always there to support this family. After graduation at YSMU at the 72nd Graduation Ceremony of YSMU, I served my country to be a Medical Officer in the Indian Army for 5 years and was granted the rank of a Major. My post-graduation at various prestigious Indian Medical Universities in Hospital Management, Diploma in Clinical Pathology & Masters in Pathology is a crown to the fundamental knowledge gained at YSMU. As on today I have been practicing and teaching Pathology for more than a decade. Words cannot describe the immense gratitude I have to every faculty member and university staff who supported me as a Guardian, Friend and Teacher during all the days I spent at Yerevan.

Diploma in Cardiology (UK)
YSMU 1999

I cannot believe that it’s been 20 years since I graduated from YSMU. It has been a dream ever since I passed my secondary school to become a doctor. I am proud to say that at Yerevan I learnt not only to become a doctor but also a responsible citizen of the world. Today, looking back I can say that I was well prepared for the challenges of life, thanks to my training at YSMU. I have a lot more to achieve, during my time at Yerevan I had the opportunity to work on a research project in the department of biochemistry which earned me a publication as well as a diploma in Biochemistry, following my graduation from YSMU, I pursued a diploma in cardiology from Imperial college (Uk) and passed with a mark of distinction. I have been practicing Cardiology in India for 15 years.
It was during my later years of practice that I decided to postgraduate in Basic Sciences and did Masters in Biochemistry from Dr NTR University of health sciences, Andhra Pradesh, India. I am now associated with St Martin’s Faculty of Medicine, in the Netherlands Antilles as a full-time faculty in the department of biochemistry. Presently I am pursuing Essential Skills in Medical Education by AMEE (UK).  I take pride in preparing medical students for the evolving challenges in medicine.

First thing that comes to my mind as I prepare to write this testimonial for Yerevan State Medical University is totally professional. University is professional in their approach and thorough in everything it does. Thanks to the application process of the university of my choice. The professors and Doctors of University took care of everything as they led me through every step. I highly recommend Yerevan state medical University for all who consider to study in Armenia. I would really like to thank each and every one-off University and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship during my stay at Yerevan State Medical University. I really appreciate every one of them. And as for Armenia I can personally say that it’s the most peaceful country. The weather is amazing, people are helpful, and you get to find yourself in this place. So, as I can say YSMU should be the 1st choice and I am proud to be a part of YSMU family 2014-2020 batch

Dr. Suganthi Mugil Parthiban
MD Physician Yerevan state medical university (YSMU) 2020

At the age seventeen, all packed with books, dress & confidence, I started the first step of the journey to pursue my dreams. Just fascinated by information in high school syllabus, regarding the functions and mechanism of organ system in human body, I decided to explore it more deeply.
That’s where my journey started to Yerevan state medical university after Mkhitar Heratsi in Armenia. After realising a bit late that I’m in a foreign country, all alone with least knowledge of the local language just because of my dream and passion, but least was I bothered by these things because of the university staffs & teachers’ guidance and help.
Three years of language classes for the basic survival and to talk with the patients during the future classes. Adequate hostel facilities and cafeteria provided by the university made the adaptation process easier during the initial period in Armenia. Even though i missed my parents, people, food and country, the hospitality Armenian people showed helped me overcome it slowly, once i knew their language.
The education process throughout the six years is exceptional and very systematically arranged. To help the international students, career centre of the university has arranged extra classes to pass their own country’s entrance exam in ease.
I believe myself very much lucky to graduate at the 100th year of the university (YSMU) and to be a part of the noble days of Yerevan conference which was held during my study here.

Little did I know I’d feel so gutted for leaving Armenia when I landed here in my first year. All these years here have been amazing, a great opportunity to learn a lot of not just medicine but also about life. Dr Arun sir, being the guiding light and an amazing mentor that he is, was always there in each step to help and guide me through difficult times.

‘’Highly recommend DA EDUCATION and Dr Arun Dabas for putting your career in their safe hands and choosing Armenia for your Medical

I always wanted to see myself as a doctor, but I was clueless about my path. Then, I got to know about Yerevan State Medical University from a mentor Dr Arun Dabas and DA Education who guided me so well to pursue my MBBS. He played a very crucial role in my journey from India to Armenia.

Currently, I am pursuing my 2nd year of MBBS. This university gave me a very supportive and cordial environment. The Professors and staff are very cooperative and motivating. I got to learn a new language and participated in different curricular activities. We have YSMU Indian Student Council who looks after all the cultural activities. Students are provided to celebrate their beliefs and
festivals like Diwali, Holi, and many more functions with the Indian Embassy.
Also, the atmosphere of the hostel is safe and easy to live in. It provides us – Wi- Fi equipped reading/ study halls, event hall, canteen, laundry room, centrally heated rooms, running hot & cold water, sports ground and much more. Overall studying at YSMU is the right choice.
I am privileged and proud to be a part of the YSMU family and DA Education.
